In the first week of the school holidays a number of our whānau descended on our papa kāika for Te Kura o te Tira Mōrehu Reo o Moeraki. With nearly 70 attendees it was our biggest te reo wānaka yet and lovely to have so many of the whānau committed to learning te reo and Moeraki history in the one place. We are now attempting to move the Te Reo Māori Strategy to the next stage by developing an action/ implementation plan. You will recall the questionnaires that were sent out last year regarding this. A hui has been scheduled for early May.

We have invited representatives from the Mātauranga Team and Kotahi Mano Kāika Team of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu to attend, as well as Will Edwards who has been involved in the revitalisation of Te Reo Māori in Taranaki. All participants have been invited to share their ideas, experience and expertise and the lessons they have learned.
