On 23 May the Canterbury District Health Board held a dawn ceremony for the new build of the Kaikōura Integrated Family Health Centre. Brett Cowan opened the ceremony with karakia me te horoi i te mauri. Tā Mark was one of the guest speakers along with community members and CDHB manuhiri. As the land is part of Takahanga Pā, the mauri was lifted off the old hospital site. This will pave the way for construction to start on the new Family Health Centre.
