Last Kaumātua Health Day we went out to Mandeville Gallery to look at the Mataura River Art Project. Community arts worker, Janet de Wagt, worked with 21 primary schools (more than 1800 school children in total) to create a special art exhibition that celebrates the Mataura River in all its forms.
The students and teachers have worked with a large variety of materials. The displays were amazing to see and a lot of hard work that went into each piece of artwork.
