Ōnuku Rūnanga Incorporated Society wishes to inform current and potential members of the Rūnanga of its intention to conduct a vote for the purposes of electing the members of the Ōnuku Rūnanga Appointment Committee. Once elected, the Appointment Committee will be responsible for appointing the Representative and Alternate Representative of the Rūnanga to represent the interests of the Rūnanga at meetings of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.

Our Appointment Committee consists of seven members. If you would like to be a member of the Appointment Committee, you must meet all the relevant criteria, including having attended three (3) consecutive meetings in the twelve months prior to the rūnanga meeting on 14 April 2013.  An exception to this is when a signed, dated written apology been received and accepted as set out in rules for Ōnuku Rūnanga Incorporated Society.

If more than seven people apply to be on the Appointment Committee then we will need to hold a vote to decide who makes up our Appointment Committee. Those people who have established their entitlement to vote under the Rūnanga constitution by 5pm on Friday 12 April 2013 will be able to vote.

Ōnuku Rūnanga Incorporated Society will seek nominations for the Appointment Committee at the Rūnanga General Meeting on Sunday 14 April 2013. Nominated members must be present at this meeting to qualify for an appointment to the Committee.
